Poland: Consumer Morale Improves in September.

Poland’s current consumer confidence indicator improved to -10.8 in September 2026 from -11.3 in August, as assessments of the current situation strengthened, although expectations for the future weakened. The evaluation of current major purchases increased the most (-1.6 vs -4.9), while assessments of the country’s current and future economic situation also improved (-22.7 vs -23.8 and -17.7 vs -19.3, respectively). In contrast, households’ assessments of their current (-7.2 vs -5.4) and future (-4.7 vs -3.1) financial situation deteriorated. The leading consumer confidence indicator improved initially, with expectations for the country’s future economic situation rising (-17.7 vs -19.3) and expectations for future savings (14.2 vs 14.1). However, the overall indicator subsequently declined to -7.9 from -7.6, reflecting weaker expectations for households’ future financial situation (-4.7 vs -3.1) and unemployment (-23.5 vs -22.2).
