Hong Kong: Forex Reserves Edges Down in August.
Hong Kong's foreign exchange reserves fell to US$442.9 billion in August 2026 from US$447.9 billion in the previous month. There were no unsettled foreign exchange contracts at the end of August and July of 2026, compared with US$0.3 billion in June. Overall, the reserves are equivalent to more than five times the currency in circulation and about 37% of Hong Kong dollar M3 money supply.
