France: CAC 40 Records 3rd Straight Weekly Loss.
The CAC 40 plunged 1.8% to close at 7,666 on Friday, recording its third consecutive weekly decline and hitting a fresh monthly low, as the rally inspired by diplomatic signals in the Middle East gave way to a broader selloff in European equities. Despite earlier suggestions of de-escalation from US and Israeli leadership, investors rotated out of luxury and technology heavyweights while bracing for a hawkish interest rate path from the ECB. Hermes International led the retreat with a 4.9% drop while Safran and Thales fell 4% and 2.7%, respectively as geopolitical uncertainty persisted. The banking sector faced significant pressure with BNP Paribas sliding 2.8% and Societe Generale losing 4.2%. Meanwhile energy major TotalEnergies fell 2.1% amid volatile crude prices.
