France: CAC 40 Retreats at Week's End.
The CAC 40 fell 0.8% to close at 8,170 on the final trading day of the week, as early optimism about the end of the US government shutdown faded and investors reassessed lofty valuations in major tech names. Reduced odds of Federal Reserve easing amplified the move, and losses were broad based with Stellantis down 2.6%, Orange 2.2%, Societe Generale 2.0%, Veolia 1.9% and Carrefour 1.9% among the weakest. Outside the main index, Ubisoft said it will delay publication of first-half fiscal 2025–26 results and requested a trading suspension for its shares and bonds until the figures are released, adding to market caution. Still, the Paris exchange logged a weekly advance of 2%.
