Italy: Stocks Hit 2007-Highs.

The FTSE MIB rose 1.7% to near 43,650 on Monday, a high level not seen since April 2007, mirroring an upbeat sentiment across markets, driven by hopes that lawmakers were nearing a deal to end the longest government shutdown in US history. In a late Sunday vote, the Senate cleared a key procedural hurdle for the bipartisan continuing resolution, securing 12 Democratic supporters, more than the 10 needed, and paving the way for final passage today. Meanwhile, attention was also on corporate earnings and central banks' remarks. Banks were performing well, led by Banca Monte Paschi Siena, which rose 4.4%, followed by Banco BPM (+3.8%). Lottomatica Group rose 3.7% as it unveiled a €500 million share buyback plan, with €130 million already repurchased in 2025 and the remaining €200 million planned for 2026.
