7 August 2026, 12:41  Taiwan: Exports Rise Less Than Expected.

Exports from Taiwan surged 32.9% year-on-year to USD 75.3 billion in July 2026, easing from a 40.3% jump in June and missing market expectations of a 40.7% increase. Growth was driven by strong demand for electronic products, with shipments rising 50.5%, while exports of information and communication products increased 29.5%. The US remained the largest export destination, accounting for 31% of total shipments, with exports rising 25.2%, followed by Mainland China and Hong Kong, where shipments increased 33.4%. Exports continued to benefit from robust demand for AI and high-performance computing applications, supporting shipments across Taiwan's semiconductor and AI hardware supply chains. The Ministry of Finance expects exports to grow 31%-35% year-on-year in August. In the first seven months of 2026, total exports reached USD 493.0 billion, up 44.7% from the same period a year earlier.
