Greece’s trade deficit narrowed to EUR 2.6 billion in June 2026 from EUR 3.2 billion in the same month a year earlier, although it remained the largest deficit recorded in the past three months. Exports surged 26.3% year-on-year to EUR 5.0 billion, supported by stronger shipments to both EU countries (29.8%) and third countries (21.4%). Meanwhile, imports rose 6.5% to EUR 7.6 billion, driven by higher purchases from both EU countries (4.8%) and third countries (8.6%). Over the January–June period, the trade deficit narrowed to EUR 15.1 billion from EUR 16.9 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year.
