Construction output in the Czech Republic increased 2.0% year-on-year in June 2026, easing from a 4.4% rise in the previous month and marking the slowest growth since January. Building construction output rose 6.3% from a year earlier, while civil engineering activity declined 5.3%. A total of 5,545 building permits were issued, up 1.8% year-on-year, while the floor area of newly permitted buildings jumped 76.3%. Meanwhile, housing starts surged 52.9% to 4,103 units, while completed dwellings fell 17.8% year-on-year to 2,699. On a monthly basis, construction output declined 0.3% in June, reversing a 0.2% increase in May.
