4 August 2026, 11:04  Italy: FTSE MIB Climbs to Fresh Record.

The FTSE MIB climbed to around 53,400 on Tuesday, hitting a fresh record high, tracking gains across its European peers as investors awaited another batch of corporate earnings and monitored developments in the Middle East. Gains were broad-based across the bourse, with technology shares drawing support from a rally in global tech stocks amid optimism over AI-related spending. STMicroelectronics and Prysmian each rose more than 2%. Heavyweight financials also advanced, with UniCredit (+1.4%), Banca Mediolanum (+1.0%), BPER Banca (+1.3%), Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena (+1.1%), and FinecoBank (+1.8%) posting gains. Defense stocks also traded firmly higher.
