The DAX 40 rose 0.6% to cross 26,500 on Friday, hitting a record high, supported by recent positive economic data, falling oil prices and continued optimism around the technology sector. Attention now turns to Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s speech at the annual central banking symposium in Jackson Hole later today, with markets looking for further guidance on the outlook for monetary policy. Autos, chemical companies, utilities and tech stocks led sectoral gains.
