28 August 2026, 10:57  Austria: Producer Prices Rise Most Since 2023.

Annual producer inflation in Austria rose to 3.3% in July 2026 from 3.1% in June, marking the fourth consecutive month of growth after ending an almost year-long deflationary streak, and the highest rate since April 2023. The increase was mainly driven by higher prices for intermediate goods, which rose 6.6%, unchanged from June, while energy prices accelerated to 2.6% from 2.1%. Prices for capital goods also increased at a slightly faster pace of 1.1%, compared with 1.0% in the previous period. Meanwhile, consumer goods prices fell 0.2% after rising 0.2% in June. On a monthly basis, the PPI rose 0.3% in July, with prices increasing particularly for basic metals (+1.0%) and wood and wood products (+0.7%), while declines in chemicals and chemical products (-4.1%) and food products (-0.6%) partly offset the gains.
