Switzerland’s non-farm payrolls increased 2.0% year-on-year to 5.698 million in Q2 2026, accelerating from a 0.5% rise in the previous quarter. This represented an increase of 111,800 jobs, driven mainly by the services sector, where employment rose 2.2% to 4.550 million. The largest increases were recorded in health and social work activities (2.2% to 895,000), professional, scientific and technical activities (1.6% to 525,000), education (1.7% to 434,000), and administrative and support service activities (10.5% to 433,000). Employment in the industry and construction sector also increased 1.2% to 1.148 million, led by manufacturing (0.7% to 695,000) and construction (1.9% to 387,000).
