24 August 2026, 15:39  Germany: DAX Pare Some Losses.

The DAX 40 trimmed early losses to trade marginally down around 26,120 on Monday, amid weakness in technology stocks and autos. Investors cautiously awaited details on new US sanctions on Iran due later in the day, given its possible impact on inflation and interest rates across the globe. Investors were also looking ahead to Jackson Hole, where Warsh will make his debut as Fed chair and is expected to face close scrutiny over the outlook for US monetary policy. Chipmaker Infineon Technologies and AI-retaled companies such as Siemens Energy fell more than 1%, on nervousness ahead of Nvidia’s earnings. Volkswagen slipped 1.6% as CEO Oliver Blume warned that mounting pressure on the automotive sector would require further cost-cutting, including significant workforce reductions. The German carmaker is preparing for weeks of negotiations over a restructuring programme.
