21 August 2026, 10:52  Turkey: Consumer Confidence Hits Over 3-Year High.

Turkey’s consumer confidence index rose to 90.8 in August 2026 from 89.8 in the previous month. This marked the highest reading since May 2023, driven by an improved assessment of households’ current financial situation, which rose to 75.4 from 74.5 in July, alongside stronger expectations for the general economic outlook, which increased to 89.4 from 88.3. Confidence in households’ financial situation over the next 12 months also strengthened, climbing to 93.1 from 91.4. At the same time, willingness to spend on durable goods remained steady at 105.1, unchanged from the previous month. Despite the monthly improvement, the index remained well below the neutral 100 threshold, indicating that consumers continued to be generally pessimistic about economic conditions.
