11 August 2026, 10:24 Czech Republic: Inflation Confirmed at 1.7% in July.
The annual inflation rate in the Czech Republic rose to 1.7% year-on-year in July 2026, confirming preliminary estimates and up from 1.5% in June. Price growth accelerated for housing and utilities (1.6% vs 1.3%), transport (6.6% vs 5.7%), furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance (1.6% vs 1.3%), and health (3.7% vs 3.4%). Meanwhile, deflation eased in food and non-alcoholic beverages (-3.1% vs -3.4%). At the same time, price growth moderated for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (4.7% vs 4.3%), recreation, sports, and culture (0.9% vs 2.7%), restaurants and accommodation services (4.3% vs 4.5%), and information and communication (1.8% vs 1.9%). Inflation was unchanged for education (4.0%) and personal care, social protection, and miscellaneous goods and services (3.6%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.6% in July, rebounding from a 0.3% decline in June and marking the highest monthly increase since March.
