11 August 2026, 03:18  Singapore: Q2 GDP Growth Revised Higher.

Singapore’s economy grew by 5.9% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, slowing from a 6.3% expansion in Q1, which was the strongest annual growth since Q3 2024, but exceeded advance estimates of 5.7%. Growth was mainly supported by the goods-producing industries (10.5% vs 7.9% in Q1), with manufacturing growth surging to 12.5% (vs 7.3%). Construction growth, however, slowed to 5.8% from 12.9%. Meanwhile, services-producing industries expanded 4.9%, easing from 6.3% in the previous quarter. Growth softened in wholesale & retail trade and transportation & storage (6.3% vs. 9.5%) and accommodation & food services, real estate, administrative & support services and other services industries (2.4% vs 3.1%), while information & communications, finance & insurance and professional services accelerated (5.1% vs 4.7%). On a quarterly basis, the economy expanded 1.4%, surpassing flash estimates of 1.1% and accelerating from a slightly downwardly revised 1.2% growth in the previous quarter.
