The year-ahead inflation expectations in the United States, as compiled by the survey of the University of Michigan, eased to 4.5% in May 2026 from a seven-month high of 4.7% in April, preliminary estimates showed. At the same time, the five-year inflation outlook edged down to 3.4% from a six-month high of 3.5% in the month before.
