8 May 2026, 12:20  Austria: Industrial Output Rises in March.

Industrial production in Austria rose 1.7% year-on-year in March 2026, accelerating from a revised flat reading in the previous month. The increase was driven mainly by stronger growth in the industrial sector (2.8% vs 1.0% in February), while construction output continued to decline, though at a slower pace (-3.0% vs -4.9%). Among the main industrial groupings, output increased notably for capital goods (9.4% vs 3.5%) and intermediate goods (1.2% vs 0.5%). Consumer durable goods production remained strong, although growth slowed slightly (15.8% vs 21.1%). Meanwhile, the decline in consumer non-durable goods eased (-2.3% vs -3.7%), while energy output turned negative (-7.2% vs 1.6%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output grew 1.5% in March.
