6 May 2026, 04:37  Argentina: Fitch Raises Credit Rating to “B-”

Fitch upgraded its credit rating on Argentina by one notch to “B-” from “CCC” on Tuesday, with a stable outlook, citing the country’s improved fiscal performance and progress on economic reforms. The note also cited legislative victories by Argentine President Javier Milei, including labor reforms and the easing of environmental restrictions on mining. However, the agency noted that vulnerabilities persist due to weak international reserves, high inflation, and a history of macroeconomic instability. Fitch said it expects economic growth to moderate to 3.2% in 2026. Standard & Poor’s credit rating for Argentina stands at CCC+ with a stable outlook. Moody’s credit rating for Argentina was last set at Caa1 with a stable outlook. DBRS’s credit rating for Argentina was last reported at B (low), also with a stable outlook.
