4 May 2026, 10:12 Hungary: Producer Prices Rise 1.2% in March.
Producer prices in Hungary rose by 1.2% year-on-year in March 2026, rebounding from a 3.3% drop in the previous month. This was the first increase in producer prices after four consecutive months of declines, driven by a rebound in prices for both domestic (1.2% vs -3.1% in February) and non-domestic output (1.3% vs -3.3%). By sector, prices for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply surged (8.4% vs -5.6%), while mining and quarrying costs edged up (0.1% vs -7.5%). Additionally, prices for manufacturing decreased at a much slower pace (-0.2% vs -3.1%). Meanwhile, inflation eased for water collection, treatment and supply (4.1% vs 6.0%). On a monthly basis, producer prices increased by 3.9%, following a 0.8% fall in February.
