Producer prices in Hungary increased by 0.3% year-on-year in April 2026, easing from a 1.2% rise in the previous month. Prices declined in non-domestic output (-0.5% vs 1.3% in March), while domestic output prices rose (2.2% vs 1.2%). By sector, manufacturing costs fell further (-1.1% vs -0.2%), particularly in transport equipment, machinery and equipment, electrical equipment, and food products, beverages and tobacco products. Costs also moderated in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (8% vs 8.4%), as well as in water collection, treatment, and supply (2.2% vs 4.1%). In contrast, price growth picked up in mining and quarrying (1.4% vs 0.1%). On a monthly basis, producer prices declined by 1.3% in April after a 3.9% increase in the prior period.
