Hungary’s construction output rose by 3.9% year-on-year in March 2026, rebounding from a downwardly revised 1.1% decline in the previous month. Output in civil engineering works climbed by 3.0%, recovering from a 7.7% drop in February, mainly driven by a 7.3% increase in specialised construction activities. Meanwhile, building constructions also rose by 4.4% from 1.7%. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction output grew by 0.5% in March. For the first quarter of 2026, the total volume of construction output declined by 4.2% compared to the same period a year earlier, as construction of buildings and civil engineering output fell by 1.6% and 9.4%, respectively.
