Slovakia’s construction output surged 29.9% year-on-year in March 2026, marking an all-time high in growth and accelerating sharply from an 8.2% increase in the previous month. The expansion was driven by a strong rise in domestic construction activity, which grew by 32.8% after a 9.5% increase in February, particularly in construction of buildings (40.6% vs 10.3 in February), new constructions and reconstructions (33.8% vs 11.3%), repairs and maintenance (29.0% vs 1.8%), and engineering construction (15.3% vs 7.2%) driven mainly by projects involving roads, motorways, and railway corridors. In addition, construction abroad rebounded 11.4% from -1.6% in the previous month.
