11 May 2026, 19:40 Italy: FTSE MIB Rises on Energy and Utilities Gains.
The FTSE MIB rose 0.8% to close at 49,665 on Monday, supported by gains in the utilities and energy sectors. Eni climbed 3.0% as oil prices rose amid renewed US-Iran tensions, while Enel gained 2.7%. Other notable performers included Prysmian (+3.2%), Tenaris (+1.9%), and STMicroelectronics (+2.6%). On the earnings front, Mediobanca rose 0.6% ahead of its earnings release scheduled for Tuesday. BPER Banca (+0.6%), Snam (0.0%), Recordati Ord. (-0.2%), and Infrastrutture Wireless (+2.2%) are also set to report results this week. Meanwhile, luxury stocks underperformed amid weaker risk appetite, with Ferrari (-2.9%), Moncler (-5.0%), and Brunello Cucinelli (-3.3%) posting losses. Leonardo fell 3.5%, while Stellantis declined 1.5%.
