11 May 2026, 09:45  Lithuania: Inflation Rate Highest Since 2023.

Lithuania’s annual inflation rate rose to 5.3% in April 2026 from 4.8% in the previous month, marking the highest level since August 2023. Prices climbed for transport (14.2% vs 8.3% in March), while continuing to rise for housing and utilities (7.1% vs 6.5%), restaurants and accommodation services (6.3% vs 6%), information and communication (2.8% vs 1.7%), and education (3.5% vs 3.4%). Price growth also rebounded in furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance (2% vs -0.5%). In contrast, price increases slowed for food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.9% vs 2.4%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (7.6% vs 7.9%), health (2.8% vs 3%), recreation, sport and culture (7.3% vs 7.8%), and personal care, social protection, and miscellaneous goods and services (4.1% vs 5.6%), while clothing and footwear prices declined (-0.4% vs 0.4%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices eased 0.6% in April after a 1.5% increase in the prior period.
