8 September 2025, 10:40 Lithuania: Inflation Rate Rises to 4-Month High.
Lithuania’s annual inflation rate rose to 4.0% in August 2025 from 3.8% in the previous month. This marked the highest level since April, as prices mainly accelerated for food and non-alcoholic beverages (6.0% vs 5.5% in July), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (8.2% vs 7.3%), and housing and utilities (1.5% vs 1.0%). At the same time, prices recovered for clothing and footwear (0.1% vs -0.1%), while it remained the same for restaurants and hotels (6.9%). In contrast, inflation moderated for communications (2.4% vs 3.1%), recreation and culture (4.9%. vs 5.5%), and miscellaneous goods and services (2.8% vs 3.3%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.2% in August, marking the first drop since May, from 0% in the previous month.
