5 September 2025, 23:54 Brazil: Ibovespa Closes at Historic High.
The Ibovespa gained 1.2% to close at a record 142,639 on Friday, amid weakening US economic signals that reinforced expectations for multiple Fed rate cuts this year and by Brazil’s improving domestic backdrop. Weak US payrolls triggered a drop in Treasury yields and renewed global liquidity flows into emerging markets, while easing inflation projections at home and new measures from Brazil’s central bank to enhance financial system security added layers of confidence in the macro-financial environment. Gains were broadbased with major banks among top performers including Banco Do Brasil, Santander, Itausa, and Bradesco adding between 1% and 3.5%.
