5 September 2025, 22:11 Italy: FTSE MIB Falls Amid US Weak Job Data.
The FTSE MIB fell 0.9% to close at 41,608 on Friday, as poor labor market data from the US raised growth concerns on the world's largest economy and pressured equities across the globe. Sentiment was also down on a stall in retail sales domestically, missing expectations of a 0.4% jump to suggest that household consumption may not support the domestic GDP as it did in the second quarter. Banks were among the main laggards, with UniCredit and Intesa Sanpaolo dropping firmly. In turn, STMicroelectronics jumped nearly 4% after receiving an upgrade from BNP Paribas, as the French bank likely sees the bottom of the chip-maker's recent selloff.
