3 September 2025, 11:57 Turkey: Producer Inflation Picks Up to 6-Month High.
The annual producer inflation in Turkey rose to 25.16% in August 2025 from 24.19% in July, marking the highest level since February. Price growth accelerated in manufacturing (24.73% vs 24.02% in July), particularly in food products (28.66% vs 25.11%), textiles (20.15% vs 17.23%), and coke and refined petroleum products (13.74% vs 10.69%). Inflation also picked up in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (26.68% vs 22.10%), driven by higher electricity and gas costs (26.68% vs 22.10%) and electricity transmission and distribution services (19.74% vs 18.07%). Meanwhile, water supply costs grew at a slightly slower pace, at 55.35% compared with 55.74% in July. On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 2.48%, the sharpest increase in three months, after a 1.73% gain in the previous period.
