29 September 2025, 22:34  Germany: DAX Ends on Cautious Note.

The DAX in Frankfurt traded cautiously and closed almost unchanged at 23,775 on Monday, as investors awaited a busy week of economic data and speeches from central bankers, including ECB President Lagarde on Tuesday. Geopolitical developments also drew attention today, as Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu meets US President Trump, who is expected to outline his proposed Gaza peace plan. Meanwhile, traders remained cautious ahead of a potential US government shutdown, though optimism persists that a resolution will be reached, as has often been the case in the past. On the corporate front, defense names such as Renk, Hensoldt and Rheinmetall were among the top performers, adding 6.2%, 5.5% and 1.4%, respectively. Healthcare stocks also advanced firmly, led by Bayer (+1.7%). By contrast, Heidelberg Materials and Commerzbank were the biggest laggards, each shedding more than 3%.
