The UK’s annual core inflation rate eased to 3.6% in August 2025 from 3.8% in the previous month, marking the lowest reading since May and aligning with market estimates. The CPI services inflation slowed (4.7% vs 5.0% in July) while CPI goods inflation edged higher (2.8% vs 2.7%). On a monthly basis, core consumer prices increased 0.3%, slightly faster than a 0.2% rise in July.
