15 September 2025, 13:51  Kyrgyzstan: Inflation Hits Two-Year High.

Kyrgyzstan’s annual inflation rate climbed to 9.5% in August 2025, accelerating from 8.8% in the previous month, marking the highest level since September 2023. The rise was driven by higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages (13.1% vs 11.5% in July), housing and utilities (13.7% vs 13.3%), recreation and culture (6.7% vs 6.4%), health (8.3% vs 7.8%), and miscellaneous goods and services (3.4% vs 3.0%), alongside continued rapid growth in education (24.2%). In contrast, price increases were slower in transport (4.7% vs 5.4%), restaurants and hotels (1.9% vs 2.1%), and clothing and footwear (1.6% vs 2.0%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.4% in August, easing from a 0.6% increase in July.
