15 September 2025, 12:42  Poland: Inflation Rate Revised Slightly Higher.

Poland’s annual inflation rate was revised slightly higher at 2.9% in August 2025, from an initial estimate of 2.8%, compared to 3.1% in the previous month. This marked the lowest level since June 2024, led by slower price growth in recreation and culture (2.9% vs 3.4% in July), as well as in miscellaneous goods and services (1% vs 1.7%), housing and utilities (4.2% vs 4.4%), and restaurants and hotels (5.7% vs 5.8%). At the same time, contraction continued for transport (-5.4% vs -4.6%), furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-1.1% vs -0.4%), and clothing and footwear (-1.5% vs -1.3%). In contrast, prices rose faster in communication (5.9% vs 4.1%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (6.6% vs 6.5%), and health (4.8% vs 4.7%), while price growth held steady for food and non-alcoholic beverages (4.9%) and education (8.6%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices stalled in August, slightly above estimates of a 0.1% fall and following a 0.3% rise in July.
