12 September 2025, 12:09 Czech Republic: Current Account Deficit Widens in July.
The Czech Republic’s current account deficit widened sharply to CZK 14.94 billion in July 2025 from CZK 6.87 billion in the corresponding month of the previous year, coming in slightly below market forecasts of a CZK 15 billion shortfall. This marked the third consecutive month of decline as the primary income deficit widened to CZK 26.58 billion from CZK 21.50 billion in July 2024. At the same time, the secondary income shortfall increased to CZK 6.50 billion from CZK 1.80 billion. Meanwhile, the goods surplus grew to CZK 9.44 billion from CZK 8.55 billion, while the services surplus rose to CZK 8.69 billion from CZK 7.88 billion in the same month last year.
