The CAC 40 rose 0.8% to close at 7,824 on Thursday, extending its winning streak to a fourth session after the ECB held interest rates steady for a second consecutive meeting. Markets welcomed President Lagarde’s assessment that growth risks are balanced and that disinflation has run its course, with expectations set to remain on hold into next year. ECB staff projects eurozone GDP growth of about 1.2% in 2025, easing to 1.0% in 2026, with headline inflation near 2.1% next year and gradually drifting toward 1.9% by 2027.
