The Swedish economy contracted by 0.2% month-over-month in July 2025, reversing an upwardly revised 1.4% expansion in the previous month. “GDP decreased slightly in July, partially driven by lower production in the goods industries and weaker net exports of goods,” said Neda Shahbazi, economist at Statistics Sweden. On a year-over-year basis, GDP grew by 2% in July, following an upwardly revised 2.7% growth in the preceding month.
