Rwanda's overall inflation rate decelerated for a second consecutive month in August 2025, reaching a five-month low of 6.4%, compared to 7.2% in July. The slowdown in price growth was mainly driven by food and non-alcoholic beverages (5% vs 6.5% in July); restaurants & hotels (16.8% vs 17.6%); transportation (5.5% vs 5.6%) and housing & utilities (1.9% vs 2.3%). On a monthly basis, the CPI rose by 0.7% in August, after a 0.6% decrease in the prior month.
