8 July 2025, 15:04 Taiwan: Inflation Rate Lowest Since 2021.
The annual inflation rate in Taiwan slowed for the third consecutive month to 1.37% in June 2025 from 1.55% in the previous month. This marked the lowest inflation rate since March 2021, as prices moderated for food (2.82% vs 3.1% in May), housing (1.76% vs 1.8%), education and entertainment (0.6% vs 1.2%), and miscellaneous goods and services (2.21% vs 2.4%). In addition, costs decreased at a faster pace for clothing (-0.87% vs -0.6%). Meanwhile, deflation eased for transportation and communication (-1.36% vs -1.6%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.01% in June 2025, rebounding from a 0.14% fall in the preceding month.
