8 July 2025, 10:07 Indonesia: Consumer Mood Improves Slightly.
Indonesia's consumer confidence increased slightly to 117.8 in June 2025, up from 117.5 in May. Despite the upturn, the reading remained close to May’s level, which was the lowest since September 2022, amid weakening purchasing power and a shrinking middle class. Three of the six sub-indices showed improvement: perceptions of current economic conditions (up 0.7 points to 106.7), current income levels (up 2.1 points to 120.2), and overall job availability (up 0.3 points to 124.1). Meanwhile, declines were recorded in the remaining sub-indices: income expectations for the next six months (down 2.2 points to 133.2), job availability compared to six months ago (down 1.6 points to 94.1), and economic outlook (down 0.1 points to 128.9).
