7 July 2025, 11:39 France: Forex Reserves Fall to 4-Month Low.
France’s official reserve assets declined to 294.72 billion euro in June 2025, down from 304.61 billion euro in May, marking the lowest level since January. The decrease was primarily driven by a sharp drop in gold reserves, which fell by 7.90 billion euro to 219.38 billion euro. Foreign currency reserves also went down by 1.16 billion euro, reaching 30.49 billion euro, while claims on the IMF decreased by 0.92 billion euro to 38.43 billion euro. In contrast, other reserve assets edged slightly higher, rising by 0.09 billion euro to 6.42 billion euro. The overall reduction reflects shifts in asset valuations and adjustments in reserve components during the month.
