3 July 2025, 18:18 India: Sensex Ends on Lower Note.
India's BSE Sensex closed about 0.2% lower at 83,239.5 on Thursday, as late selling in financial and metal shares erased earlier gains. Investors remained cautious, balancing hopes of a US-India trade deal with FII selling pressure. Reuters reported that trade negotiators from both countries pushed on Wednesday to finalize a tariff-reduction deal, although some disagreements remained. On the domestic data front, a final PMI survey showed India’s private sector growth reached a 14-month high in June 2025, driven by the fastest growth in services and manufacturing in 10 and 14 months, respectively. Of the 30 constituent stocks, 19 ended lower.
