29 July 2025, 08:50  Gold: XAU Hovers Near 3-Week Low.

Gold hovered around $3,310 per ounce on Tuesday, near a three-week low, as signs of easing trade tensions and a stronger US dollar diminished the metal's appeal. Investors are closely monitoring ongoing talks between the US and China, amid expectations of a 90-day extension to the August 12 tariff pause deadline. This comes during a pivotal week for President Donald Trump’s trade agenda, with a separate deadline looming this Friday for other countries to clinch a deal, following an agreement announced with the EU on Sunday that includes a 15% tariff on most European goods. Talks are still underway with other major trading partners, including Canada and South Korea. Meanwhile, the US Federal Reserve is scheduled to meet this week and is widely expected to keep interest rates unchanged, although markets continue to price in a potential rate cut in September. Investors also await a flurry of US economic data this week, including the PCE price index and the nonfarm payrolls report.
