22 July 2025, 16:12 Ireland: Wholesale Prices Drop Fastest in 5 Months.
Wholesale prices in Ireland dropped by 4.6% year-on-year in June 2025, deepening from a 1.8% fall in the previous month. This marked the fifth consecutive month of decline in wholesale prices and the sharpest in the sequence, as costs moderated for food products (4.2% vs 6.3% in May), particularly meat and meat products (6.4% vs 7.9%). Additionally, prices slowed for paper and paper products (1.2% vs 2.4%), while it decreased further for mining and quarrying (-3.7% vs -2.6%) and transportable goods (-4.6% vs -1.8%). On the other hand, price deflation slightly softened for motor vehicles, trailers and semi trailers (-0.6% vs -0.7%). On a monthly basis, wholesale prices went down by 2% in June, reversing a 0.8% increase in the preceding period.
