22 July 2025, 09:57 Europe: Markets Set for Lower Open.
European stocks were poised to open lower on Tuesday as investors remained cautious ahead of the August 1 deadline for countries to finalize trade agreements with the US. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned that imposing higher tariffs starting August 1 “will put more pressure on those countries to come with better agreements.” In Europe, focus turns to corporate earnings, with reports expected from SAP, UniCredit, and Poste Italiane. No major economic data releases are scheduled for the day. In premarket trading, Euro Stoxx 50 futures slipped 0.5%, while Stoxx 600 futures were down 0.3%.
