21 July 2025, 14:06  Lebanon: Inflation Rate Hits 4-Month High.

The annual inflation rate in Lebanon rose to 15.0% in June 2025 from 14.4% in the previous month. This marked the highest reading since February, mainly driven by a faster price growth for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (13.4% vs 12.7% in May), housing and utilities (18.3% vs 18%), and furnishings, household equipment, and routine maintenance (3.9% vs 3.2%). Inflation also accelerated for recreation, amusement, and culture (8.8% vs 6.1%), health (21.7% vs 21.6%), and miscellaneous goods and services (26% vs 22.7%). In addition, prices rebounded for transportation (1.9% vs -0.8%). Meanwhile, inflation moderated for food and non-alcoholic beverages (20.8 vs 21.4%), restaurants and hotels (12.3% vs 13.5%), clothing and footwear (9.7% vs 10.3%), while prices fell further for communication (-3.3% vs -3.2%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices grew by 0.8% in June, easing from a 1.3% advance in the preceding month.
