Slovakia's current account deficit shrank to EUR 77.0 million in May 2025, from EUR 579.0 million in the corresponding month a year ago. This was largely due to an improvement in the goods account, which posted a surplus of EUR 269.6 million - a significant shift from a deficit of EUR 175.5 million in the previous year. At the same time, the deficits in both the primary income (EUR -245.3 million vs EUR -266.8 million in May 2024) and the secondary income (EUR -128.6 million vs EUR -197.8 million) narrowed. In contrast, the services surplus decreased to EUR 27.3 million from EUR 61.1 million.
