15 July 2025, 18:03  United Kingdom: FTSE 100 Pulls Back from Record Level.

The FTSE 100 slipped slightly on Tuesday, retreating from record highs near 9000. Homebuilders dragged the index down after a weak trading update from Barratt Redrow, which fell 6.8%. B&M shares dropped 6.6% after a disappointing update, with analysts pointing to soft margins and underwhelming sales despite favorable weather. In contrast, WPP rose 3.2% on M&A speculation after reports of talks with consulting giant Accenture. GSK also gained, boosted by optimism around its blood cancer drug Blenrep ahead of a key US regulatory meeting. Experian hit a record high, up 5.2%, after strong quarterly results led Jefferies to say consensus forecasts may rise.
