14 July 2025, 21:34  Canada: Wholesale Sales Revised Higher in May.

Wholesale sales in Canada edged up 0.1% to CAD 84.2 billion in May?2025, rebounding from a 2.3% decline in April and better than initial estimates of a 0.4% drop. Gains were seen in five of seven subsectors, accounting for 60.4% of total sales. The largest contributors were personal and household goods (+3.5% to CAD 12.4 billion) and motor vehicles and parts (+2.2% to CAD 14.7 billion). Machinery, equipment and supplies declined 3.3% to CAD 18.1 billion. Provincially, three provinces saw higher sales, led by British Columbia, which rose 4.1% to CAD 8.1 billion. Year-over-year, wholesale sales increased 1.8%, with volume up 0.2%. The inventory-to-sales ratio marginally ticked up from 1.54 to 1.55.
