14 July 2025, 16:26  Poland: Trade Deficit Widens in May.

Poland’s trade deficit widened to €1,443 million in May 2025 from €1,019 million in the same month of previous year, marking the 13th consecutive monthly deficit. Exports rose 4.2% year-on-year to €28.2 billion, driven by higher shipments of toys, clothing, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, and agricultural products. However, exports of consumer durables continued to decline. Imports rose 5.2% to €29.6 billion, driven by higher purchases of armaments, consumer goods, and agricultural products. However, the overall value of imports was partially offset by a steep decline in crude oil prices, which fell to their lowest level since September 2021 amid weak global demand and a weakening U.S. dollar.
