14 July 2025, 13:21 Belgium: Industrial Output Falls for Sixth Consecutive Month.
Belgium’s industrial production fell 7.3% year-on-year in May 2025, marking the sixth consecutive monthly decline and accelerating sharply from a revised 2.4% drop in the previous month. The downturn was driven by the decline in mining and quarrying output (-2.9% vs. -2.0% in April) and manufacturing (-7.5% vs. -1.6%). Meanwhile, the contraction moderated in electricity and energy supply (-4.0% vs. -8.0%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output declined 2.8% in May, compared with a revised 0.6% drop in April.
